VSP designed the Safety EyeCare Plan with strict quality assurance guidelines in mind. Safety eyewear must meet specific standards for your work environment and VSP requires that lenses and frames are certified as safe for the work environment and meet standards outlined by ANSI and OSHA.
These requirements include that the eyewear frame must be able to hold the lens and resist melting when exposed to chemicals or heat, and the lenses must be shatter resistant when a one-inch steel ball is dropped from 50 inches above. Protective side or top shields will also be provided if necessary for your work environment.
