Laser VisionCare^SM Details

With VSP's Laser VisionCare Program, VSP members have access to a range of high-quality vision correction options at substantially reduced costs. Because Laser VisionCare is part of most VSP WellVision® Plans, the program requires no added administration on your part. Your employees can save hundreds of dollars off the cost of laser vision correction at no additional cost to you.

• Complimentary screening: The VSP network doctor will discuss the benefits, risks and alternatives to laser vision correction and determine if the member is a reasonable candidate for the surgery.
  
• Pre-operative exam*: A VSP doctor participating in the Laser VisionCare Program will perform a comprehensive eye exam, including tests to measure the member's degree of nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism.
  
• Surgery: A participating surgeon will perform the surgery at a VSP contracted facility.
  
• Post-operative exams: The member will visit a VSP doctor participating in the Laser VisionCare Program several times after the surgery to ensure the eyes have healed properly.
  
• Enhancement follow-up surgery**: Although uncommon, the patient's vision may not have been corrected to the doctor and patient's satisfaction. If the patient and the doctor agree that it is necessary, the enhancement surgery and follow-up care may be performed at no cost to the patient or the group.
  

*While the screening is complimentary, if the patient has a pre-operative exam and does not proceed with the surgery, the VSP doctor may charge a discounted exam fee up to $100.

**Each laser centers enhancement surgery policy can vary. No-cost enhancements are typically performed within the first year, but some centers offer commitments as long as the member's lifetime.
